Welcome to a brand new feature! Every other week we are going to be looking at a different episode of a television show and delve into the world of that show! There is so many great television programmes out there that some of the are forgotten about or they even just get left behind. So let’s celebrate the world of television.
Show: The Amazing Adventures Of Morph
Episode: The Two Mountaineers
Original Release Date: 1980
I love stop animation, I have watched it for as long as I can remember, When I was a kid in the nineties I had a VHS with a lot of episodes of Morph on it featuring Tony Hart. One of my absolute favourite episodes was one about a Belgian bun.
Morph see’s that Tony has a cake and wants to eat it. When the phone rings, Tony Hart moves the cake to a shelf and then Morph and his friend Chaz race over the shelves, sinks and more to get to the cake first.
I don’t know why I loved this episode so much, even now when I see it, I find it joyous and exciting. It may not be as long as I remember but the creativity of it still fascinates me.
It is just the idea of making a climb up the wall look so dangerous and look like a mountain is so clever. Yes, the stop animation may look a bit jittery in places now but I still adore it and still love the humour.
