Welcome to a brand new feature! Every other week we are going to be looking at a different episode of a television show and delve into the world of that show! There is so many great television programmes out there that some of the are forgotten about or they even just get left behind. So let’s celebrate the world of television.
Show: Leanne
Episode: Smooth Like A Dolphin
Original Release Date: 2025
In a world full of streaming and the saturation of shows, it can be very hard to find a new sitcom to watch or even want to take a chance on something new. What if it is bad? What if you start to like it and it gets cancelled after one season?
I saw Leanne advertised on Netflix before it was released and it didn’t really stick on my mind. I have enjoyed many situation comedies with Kristen Johnston as appeared in and also liked Ryan Stiles from shows and improv so I thought it may be interesting. Then I saw that one of it’s creators was Chuck Lorre and that convinced me to watch it.
Initially I thought I wasn’t going to enjoy it but actually it was a lot easier to get into then I expected. Leanne Morgan and Kristen Jognston work well together and it is something that is really easy to get into.
I think the episode I started to realise I was enjoying it was episode 4 in Season 1 called Smooth Like A Dolphin. It is the first episode Leanne really makes an effort to move on from her cheating husband.
The thing I enjoyed about the episode so that you think the narrative is going one way and then it does something completely unexpected. That is why I started to really enjoy what I was watching.
It is not the best sitcom in the world but it is light hearted and a lot of fun that you can enjoy. I am happy they announced season 2.
