All this month we are celebrating acts that you need to look out for in 2026. Today we speak to Ada and Bron who had a fantastic 2025 at the Fringe and have a lot of excitement for 2026.
Hello tell us all about yourself?
Hello! We are Ada & Bron! We write together, make comedy shows and short films together. We are also a couple so we live together, cook together and sometimes… clean together. What a varied and exciting life!!
How was 2025 for you?
2025 was a dream and a whirlwind !2025 was so fun. We took our show ‘The Origin of Love’ to EDINBURGH FRINGE! It’s a cursed couple character-comedy show about weirdo soulmates and bad romance. We play 17 different characters, and they are all on big, stupid emotional journeys, trying (and failing) to find love. All underscored with live piano, composed by our friend (and third wheel), Ed Lyness.
It got nominated for the Best Newcomer Award! Crazy !!
What were the top 3 highlights for you?
1. We were nominated for a BAFTA!!!! 2. and won a Broadcast Digital Award for our BLAP called ‘Peaked’?!?! 3. Ed Fringe was a huge bucket list moment ! 4. We went to Venice, for fun!!! That’s four but that shows you how good this year was.
What was the key lesson you learnt from last year?
- Don’t get ill & never die
- Keep your friends close and enemies closer
- Greg from Masterchef is a baddie
What are your plans for 2026?
- In January, we are performing The Origin of Love at SOHO.
- We doing a lot of writing for short films & tv.
- We’re thinking of bringing The Origin of Love to Edinburgh Fringe again!

What styles do you hope to see more of in comedy this year?
- Super silly fun stuff
- No sad personal stories – we all have ‘em! Keep it in!!!!
- Would love more group stuff – gangs of buddies having fun.
- People doing their own thing with no care for the consequences
Which comedian is your one to watch in 2026 and why?
- Ele Mckenzie is great, so unhinged and genius. Also Mikey Bligh Smith is making his first solo show and he’s brilliant and we’ve heard amazing things.
- Also, Jake Detenber, our director for Ed Fringe is making his first show – I WILL BE WATCHING HIM!
Do you have any New Year’s resolutions? If so, what are they?
- We do a fun thing where we pick a word to inform the year ahead. This year my (Ada) word is going to be ‘Onion’. Bron’s word is going to be ‘Hope’.
