All this month we are celebrating the world of the Boyband and that means that every day of November we are delving into a different song by a different band! Let’s celebrate the boyband, there were many of them in the noughties and nineties when I was growing up so let’s relook at some of the great ones out there!

Track: Could It Be Magic
Artist: Take That
Original Release Date: 1992
Take That are one of the most iconic boy bands of I would say all time in the United Kingdom. Whilst they ended pretty much when I was really getting into boybands as a kid there songs have had everlasting effects on the pop world. The thing that boybands tend to do a lot is covers of other songs and whilst Gary Barlow is an excellent songwriter, I wanted to use this song that is a cover as it was a track that I would say got me into their music and also I really adore their version.
This version of Could It Be Magic is a fantastic pop song and it is unusual for only Robbie to take the lead on the whole song, it was usually split. This version is catchy, uplifting and Take That have really made it their own. It is just a real feel good song and sort of defines them as a band at this time and from what I can remember from it.
Even in 2025 this version still holds up really well.
