Films are something that we all look towards for escapism – the action, the humour, the romance, the animation. Sometimes these can hold so much more meaning then just an image on a screen and create narratives and memories in our own lives. Welcome to the sister article to Music Memories where we take a look at some of these personal stories attached to films.
Film: Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade
Original Release Date: 1989
I would say that out of all the films I have watched throughout my life, Indiana Jones has got one of the best scenes in film history. It enchanted and blew my mind as a kid and even today I absolutely love this part of the film.
I was introduced to the world of Indiana Jones as a young child, I found it amazing although the ghost part of the end of the first film and a lot of the second film used to scare me a lot, I did love it. It was movie magic.
My favourite film out of all of them (we will ignore the last two, I don’t class them in the same level at all) was the third film, The Last Crusade. It has a lot of humour, a fun story and the film section I absolutely adore.
I was always fascinated by the cave that Indiana has to go through to get to the Holy Grail. It is so exciting and to me is one of the best bits of cinema – The Leap of Faith.
I remember the first time I saw the Leap of Faith and the big reveal and it amazed me so much. Such a phenomenal illusion that it made me never look at cinema the same way again. It astonished me as a kid and still love it now – it is so clever and really defines the magic of Hollywood before CGI.
