Hello! Tell us about yourself?
I am a 36 year old mum of two ivf babies. I got into stand up roughly 5 years ago after I did a bridesmaids speech at a friends wedding and people laughed! I was first an actress and have been in tv shows such as Derry Girls and Soft Border Patrol as wel as upcoming Blue Lights. I am married to a fellow comedian and we met at the Edinburgh Fringe whilst I was in a sketch group.
Tell us all about your show!
The concept for this show, GET YOUR PINK BACK, came from a video I seen online about flamingos. When a flamingo Mum or Dad has kids their pink colour drains to a pale white because they give all of their energy and nutrients and their money to their young. But eventually, when their wee chicks are less dependent on them for survival, those parent flamingos, get their pink back. I seen this at a time when all I did was work and parent and I was so far removed from the person I was before and so I wanted to get my pinkback and talk about how I managed to do that, in this show.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
Put a list of your friends shows or shows you have heard about, if you don’t have this info you could put Janine Harouni, Foil Arms and Hog, William Thompson l. I want to see as many women in comedy as possible so I’m happy to take a punt on comedians I havent heard of yet.
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
Yes, I have been there in a sketch group. My best advice is pace yourself, get plenty of sleep and call it an early night!
