One thing I get a lot of at this time of year through the Edinburgh Fringe Interviews is food recommendations from acts. I specifically ask the question so that readers have a vast knowledge of areas they could potentially visit when they are at the festival and may not know about.
I have been to Fringe quite a few times and I have been to Edinburgh a lot as well, so I thought over July I would give you a few recommendations of my own that you may want to visit over the Fringe season.
MINT EATS
I don’t know about you but when I go to Edinburgh Fringe I get incredibly overwhelmed by the food choices and where to eat. I spend ages walking around the festival trying to decide. I also become pretty stubborn – why would I want to pay nearly £20 for something like fish and chips at a venue when I know that I can get fresher and better just up the road – so I become super critical.
I had this issue last year and found I had no choice but to eat in Pleasance Courtyard as I was running late for a show – after analysing the food people were getting off of the food trucks I eventually settled on one – and I am really glad that I did.
Mint Eats is a food stall that last year was positioned at Neighbourhood Beach, Pleasance Courtyard and Summerhall. I am not sure where they will be this year but I would search their social media channels to find out.
Mint Eats sell a selection of flat breads – last year they were around £9.50 – £11 depending on what you have. Don’t be put off with the price and the word Flatbread as they are huge.
All wraps are served with tzatziki, tomato, rocket, pickled cabbage, smoked paprika, oregano and house herb dressing. Last year you could have it with za’tar chicken, Halloumi, both together or smoked tofu.
I am not sure if it will return again to this year but I would highly recommend it as it is filling and doesn’t burst the bank.
