Sunday Book Club: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, F. Scott Fitzgerald

Every Sunday we are taking a look at the world of books. I read a lot and always want to share my opinions on what I read, so I thought it would be fun to write reviews. Today we are looking at a short story about unusual time…

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (1922)

F. Scott Fitzgerald

Synopsis

Full grown with a long, smoke-coloured beard, requiring the services of a cane and fonder of cigars than warm milk, Benjamin Button is a very curious baby indeed. And, as Benjamin becomes increasingly youthful with the passing years, his family wonders why he persists in the embarrassing folly of living in reverse

– from Waterstones

Positive Points

The story is a short read, covers a lot in a quick time. It follows the journey of Benjamin’s whole life and not just a section.

Negative Points

It is a very strange story and may bit be for all.

Overall Review

I think this book and story is sort of like Marmite – you either like it or you do not – I was not a fan and even though it is a short story I was looking forward to it to end. If you are looking for something unusual to read then I would recommend.
