INTERVIEW -A Quick Conversation with: Spin Class

Welcome the feature where we ask musicians or bands five really tough questions about music! Today I speak to Spin Class who have recently released their first single from their new EP Dinner at Derek’s. The single is called ‘Bagel Bagel Bagel’ and today we ask them some tough questions about music…

What is the hardest lyric you have ever had to write and why?

In our upcoming song Bagel Bagel Bagel, there’s a lyric that goes ‘I don’t wanna wake up, ain’t the mix that makes the bread, whole in the bagel’ you try finding a word that rhymes with bagel that isn’t ladle… the lyric doesn’t even bloody rhyme!

What is the weirdest gift or compliment a fan has given you?

We’ve received a bra or two but that’s to be expected when your band is all raw sex appeal.

Who is the best band or musician you have had the pleasure to share the stage with?

There are too many to choose from, Bristol is full to the brim of unreal talent. We’ve had a blast playing with the Choir of The Sun and we’ll be playing with The Clangers very soon!

What one of your songs has been the most difficult to rehearse for a live audience?

Definitely our 12 minute long instrumental ‘Kang Gazzard and The Lazzard Wazzard’ and it’s not just because it’s hard to say. Although the song has a structure to it, when section changes happen, it’s a lot looser than other songs we’ve written and involves a lot of communication with each other as we are playing through it.

Dream Collaboration and why ?

Oooo now that’s a question. It would be fun to write a song with Rick Rubin, everything he touches turns to gold! Although we aren’t far off with the main man himself Josh Gallop.
