Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
EL MONTEREY SIGNATURE CHICKEN ENCHILADAS
Today we are heading down the frozen food aisle to take a look at a product by a company that has been around since 1964.
El Monterey is a family run brand that was founded by Fred Ruiz based on the recipes of this mother. Since their release, they have grown and grown to have another 4,000 team members that specialise in frozen food. Apparently they are also America’s number 1 frozen Mexican food in America.
Chicken Enchiladas is one of the products that El Monterey create. The frozen product contains chicken, rice, milk, cream, cheddar cheese, Monterey jack cheese, black beans and sour cream. Each serving is 530 calories, 27 grams of fat and 21 grams of protein.
The frozen product can be cooked in the microwave on high for four minutes and forty seconds.
These Chicken Enchiladas have mixed reviews online. There are some that praise them for the taste and easiness to make. There are others that were not happy with the product as they didn’t enjoy the quality.
