Films are something that we all look towards for escapism – the action, the humour, the romance, the animation. Sometimes these can hold so much more meaning then just an image on a screen and create narratives and memories in our own lives. Welcome to the sister article to Music Memories where we take a look at some of these personal stories attached to films.

Film: Shrek 2
Original Release Date: 2004
When I heard that there was going to be a new Shrek film on the way, I was excited. A lot of the later films are a little bit hit or miss but one that I really adore is Shrek 2. The first film is amazing but the second one takes that and heightens it even further.
I saw Shrek 2 in the cinema, it was a day where I saw two films back to back – Shrek 2 was first and then it was followed by Spiderman (I cannot remember which one it was, it was Toby Maguire but cannot remember which one. I think it was number 2). It was so random seeing two films in the day that are such different genres but it was great.
It is such a great film – whilst it parodies every other fairy tale is also is a fantastic animation with so much humour. Whenever I watch it, the film takes me back to when I watched a double bill in the cinema for the first time.
A great memory.
