Ones To Watch 2025 – INTERVIEW – Kit Orion

All this month we are celebrating acts that you need to look out for in 2025. Today it is the time to put Kit Orion in the limelight and find out what’s in store for the year.

How was 2024 for you?

Kit Orion: 2024 was an exciting year for me. I put out a record and a music video. I practiced a good amount of yoga, returned to therapy, and fell in love. It has been an all around good year so far.

What were the top 3 highlights for you?

Putting out a record and music video. Learning and playing bass live. Spending some time in Ireland.

What was the key lesson you learnt from last year?

A key lesson that I learned from last year… So many lessons to have learned… Here’s one… I continue to learn how to accept help with things (having had hyper independent tendencies). Working with a team to put out my record, and to play my music live has been invaluable. It is great. I recommend it.

What are your plans for 2025?

My plans for 2025 is to continue to work on my live set, play shows and tour in support of the album, spend time writing songs and exploring sound. I also want to carve more time out to go into nature and travel. Eat good food.

What other shows are you looking forward to watching this year?

Some good acts are coming into Boston. I am hoping to see Phantogram… Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and St. Vincent are playing the same day, and I will have to play that by ear.

What styles do you hope to see more of in music this year?

I always welcome more genre-bending.

What band is your one to watch in 2025 and why?

Rosier is a band from Montreal that I just recently played a bill with. They are whimsical. I was blown away by how much richness and depth they were able to achieve in live performance. I am excited to hear their new record.

Do you have any new years resolutions? If so what are they?

My New Year’s resolution is to keep trying things that challenge me, and to let myself have fun while I am at it.

Are you on social media? If so, how can people find out more about your troupe?

My instagram handle is @kit_orion_. I am pretty consistent being up to date with goings-on. Shows, announcements, etc.

Three words why people should come and see you this year?

Bops.

Beats.

Banter.
