The Travel Book – Travel Through A Christmas Photo – Ybor City, Tampa, Florida, USA

If there is one thing I love writing about is Christmas but it is also an event that I love taking photographs of. I adore the sparkling lights of Christmas so I always take a lot of pictures. I always take a lot of images of the decorations as they fascinate me. Over the next few weeks we are going to talk about some of the photographs that I have taken over the years.

America goes big on everything and when it comes to Christmas they go big. In 2013, I spent Christmas in Tampa, Florida. It is an unusual place to spend the holiday season because it was constantly sunny, however the decorations did not disappoint.

This photograph was taken in the town of Ybor – a tram ride away from Tampa. This was taken in the centre of town and really liked how whimsical the decorations were and I adored the toy soldiers and the big, bold decorations of the tree.

It is always bizarre seeing decorations in a sunny climate and that is why it works so well when they are big and bold. The fact that the tree base is a present heightens the decorations and the fun of the whole thing.

I really liked the decorations in Ybor and I really enjoyed seeing these.
