New Album Deep Dive – INTERVIEW – 20, The Chuck Norris Experiment

Welcome to the feature where we sit down and talk to bands and artists about their latest albums to find out all about it. Today we speak to the band The Chuck Norris Experiment to find out about the album 20.

Hello nice to meet you, tell us about yourself!

Nice to meet you too! I am Chuck Ransom, one of the founders and vocalist in the Swedish action hard rock band The Chuck Norris Experiment. We are originally from Göteborg in Sweden, but these days we got one member in Dortmund, Germany and another up in Skövde, Sweden.

Tell us about the new album

“20” is as you might guess our 20-year anniversary album. We are so proud about this record. It turned out exactly as we wanted it to be. An action filled hard rock album!!

Favourite track in new album and why?

My personal favourite is “Hot Damn”. I guess it is because it is not our usual kind of song, this one is a bit slower, and groovier. I am just very, very happy how it turned out, the guitar solo is amazing.

Tell us a bit about the recording process, was it fun to do?

Recording music is my favourite thing with being in a band. I would be happy just doing that, but the kids in the band loves to hit the road. This was a pretty easy album to record, the songs were well rehearsed, and we had decided how we wanted everything to be before we went into the studio.

 What inspired the album name?

Our 20-year anniversary.

Tell us about the idea behind the album cover?

We always work with a German artist called STE, and I usually explain the album to him in text and he comes up with something that is exactly what I want. This happened this time to! I wanted it to be obvious that we were celebrating something that was 20, I wanted it to show that we are Swedish, and also it should be obvious that it is a classic hard rock album.

What one of your songs on the new album do you think will the most difficult to rehearse for a live audience?

We have played them all live, but I think the song “Out Of Your League” is the most challenging one. Not that it is complex, it is just a bit weird, and maybe too simple.

Why should people listen to the album?

Because it is bloody great.
