There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.
The time I went to the Azores I really loved it and went to two different islands and they were so different in their style that I took so many photographs and they stuck in my mind. Today’s photograph was taken on the second island that I visited – Horta.
The one thing that really stood out to me about this location was the fact there was a lot less population which meant that there are these locations that come across as really exciting and incredibly unique.
Porto do Comprido was an amazing place – it was like a really unusual desert and it was right next to the sea which made it even more amazing. I really like this photo as it highlights the isolation you felt when you were in this location. It was such an unusual sand that really made it stand out.
I like the position of the rocks and the greenery in the photo as it creates depth and a sense of mystery – it looks like a film set or like another planet which makes it magical.
