Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
NUTTY BUDDY CEREAL
Turning chocolate treats or snacks into cereals is not an uncommon thing for America to do and today we are going to look at another one of these delights that you may not of heard of before. However lets delve into what the actual chocolate treat is first before that happens.
A Nutty Buddy has been around in the United States since the sixties and since then it has been a really popular snack. It was manufactured by McKee Foods under the brand Little Debbie – it is a wafer chocolate bar that is filled with a peanut butter mixture and then covered in chocolate.
In 2022, it was announced that Little Debbie was teaming up with Kellog’s to release a cereal version of the treat. The cereal is chocolate and peanut butter flavoured cereal that is meant to taste like the treat. From what I can understand from my research is that it is a sort of puffed brown style cereal that could be purchased from most grocery stores.
The cereal could be purchased for $8.49 for a 13.1oz box and contained a variation of minerals and vitamins. There are a lot of positive reviews of this cereal online with a lot praising that it tastes like the real thing.
