Hello! Tell us about yourself?
Hi, I’m Sasha. I do stand-up, write stuff and act in stuff when they let me. I also play a lot of Dungeons and Dragons. I’m a Leo, but I don’t think that means anything. I have a really weirdly shaped head – it’s wider than it is long, so I’m basically Stewie from Family Guy.
Tell us all about your show!
I’m doing two shows at the Fringe this year, a solo stand-up show called My MILFshake Brings all the Boys to the Yard, and a comedy game show called Character Building Experience.
MILFshake is a stand-up show about all the stuff that hits you like a ton of bricks in your 30s,once you get your first MILFing. It’s all about how your relationship to everything changes once that first dude calls you a MILF.
Character Building Experience is a joyful, quirky show that’s kinda like Dungeons and Dragons, but super simple version played for laughs. It’s pretty much comedians playing silly characters going on an adventure, occasionally making some questionable choices… constantly making questionable choices.
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
If you’re doing a full Fringe run, pace yourself. It’s a long month and the FOMO is real. Occasionally try to eat something green and go to sleep while it’s still dark. Everyone burns out in week three – it’s very common, it happens to everyone and it’s not a big deal.
What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?
See shows by people you haven’t seen before. There’s nothing better than discovering a new performer or group to love. If you’re not sure who to see, ask literally anyone. I’ve never met a Fringe goer or performer who doesn’t have at least three recommendations for shows they’ve unexpectedly enjoyed. Having said that, Edinburgh is a really beautiful city, when we’re not covering it with horrible pictures of our smug little faces, so also try to do one touristy thing. I do one every Fringe, I’m seeing Edinburgh… very slowly.
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
David Bann is a delightful veggie restaurant near the Pleasance Courtyard. This is gonna sound weird, but they have the best ketchup…
What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?
A raincoat, a power bank and a steam inhaler. Your voice will give out. You must accept this and prep accordingly.
what’s the secret to successful flyering?
There’s a fine line between selling your show with your love and enthusiasm and scaring polite strangers. I’ve never found that line, but if you can, do! Apparently, it really works. Then again, when I hand people flyers with pictures of my actual face, many of them hear out my pitch and then ask me, “Yes, but is she funny?” So maybe just wear your own face when you go out and flyer.
If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
For funzies, maybe?
