Hello! Tell us about yourself?

I’m 24, I make YouTube shorts, and I’m better at stand-up than those facts suggest.

Tell us all about your show!

It’s about being a young person, privilege, drugs, religiously forbidden relationships and an emotional encounter with a tiger. There are one-liners, stories, routines, impressions. It’s very honest and personal but the gag rate is high.

How did you come up with the name of your show that you’re taking to the fringe?

It’s a double meaning. I’m very entitled, and I’ve also brought a lot of unfortunate stuff on myself.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

I can’t wait to see Eric Rushton’s show. He’s over-analytical in a wonderfully silly way. Also Ray O Leary, Dee Allum, Ian Stone and many more.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

Have someone visit you who doesn’t care about comedy at all. They will reassure you that none of it matters.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

I wake up hungover at 3pm. My friend is sleeping on the hard-wood floor of my studio, because when I booked it I didn’t know ‘studio’ meant one room. I step over him to leave. I do the 40 minute walk to my venue, bumping into 5 comedians on the way who I think probably hate me. I bump into someone from a TV channel. They thought my show was “Good!” I get to my unbearably hot venue. A reviewer is in, as are some of my family members, who heckle me. I leave and bump into a friend, also having a rough time. We laugh about it. We bump into more friends, and laugh more. We head to a bar. I remember that I love comedy because I get to hang out with funny people. Sleep. Repeat.

What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?

Seeing shows.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

The African Wrap Place.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Just crushing it, bro.

Top tips for travelling around the Fringe and getting to shows on time?

You should be walking everywhere. If you’re not punctual I can’t help you. Sort it out mate. I have no time for people like you.

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

Three tickets to my show.

What’s the secret to successful flyering?

I have no idea. I’m s*** at it. Get some students to do it for you.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

@finlaycomedy

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

You’ll die soon.
