Hello! Tell us about yourself?

I am a writer/actor/singer/dancer/producer who has also been a dresser on Broadway for over 25 years.

Tell us all about your show!

Unseen is an “all access” pass into the mysterious world of Broadway’s backstage! Follow veteran “star dresser” Pam as she works her magic through complex costume changes, confrontations and quirky actor demands, all while staying hidden in the shadows.

When the stress of invisibility gets heavy, supportive allies rally and equip her to stand up, curse like a sailor and be seen. This may be a solo show, but Kimberly Prentice quick-changes her way through 30+ distinct characters as we follow Pam’s hilarious, and sometimes harrowing, journey of working in the dark, unseen, while trying not to disappear.

How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the fringe?

As a dresser on Broadway, we are required to wear all black and stand away from the light, unseen to the audience and often our own producers. I also am a woman in her 50’s living in NYC, which makes me pretty unseen as well.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

I began my life as a dancer, so I will be catching a lot of dance, musicals, and circus shows. But I also want to see what my fellow solo artists are doing. And then, there’s just good straight theatre and music to experience along with the comedians who I hear will be in the most awesome venues.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

This is my first time.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

I imagine I will need to eat a good breakfast, take time to fully warm up my body and my voice and head to the theatre. Afterwards, I look forward to seeing shows and hanging out with artists from all over the world.

What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?

I’m going to guess and say hanging out with other artists in the venue pubs.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

I get to be a part of an amazing community of international artists.

what’s the secret to successful flyering?

God I wish I knew!
