Hello! Tell us about yourself?
Hello. I like squirrels, I’m quite socially awkward, I grew up in Cornwall, my dad left my mum for a man, I on more than one occasion have found myself trapped down the sewers.
Tell us all about your show!
My show is about being comfortable in your own skin, friendship, mental health, squirrels, being feral and a world that is often made glossier than how I know it.
How did you come up with the name for the show you’re taking to the fringe?
I love the idea of coming up with a great pun and then calling the show that but never seem to come up with one. My brain will just think something and then when I think that’s the right name for my show a feeling of, “YES” gathers in my loins which is what happened here. Who am I to deny that gusset based feeling?
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
Amy Mason, Andrew White, Katie Norris, Fiona Ridgewell, Tom Lawrinson
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe?
Yes, I’m a right old saturated goose! Don’t rush going up, take your time to take up something you’ve worked hard on that you’re proud of. Don’t surround yourself with morons which is probably quite good advice for life; not just fringe.
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
I hopefully wake up, get my melons in order for the day, maybe go over show bits that need to go over, waddle on in to Edinburgh, get a cup of tea and some sort of breakfast requirement, then go do and watch shows x 26
What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?
That blooming app better be back because if I find myself with a bit of time I like looking at what’s on and near and taking a punt.
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
It was that salad / pasta box place on Grass Market (think it was called Graze) loved it there as had lots of bits and I love bits but it shut down so now I just hang with the gulls picking bits off the floor.
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
It’s its own big ol’ performing world for best part of a month, you get to know people you didn’t know before and hopefully have a good time with a show you care about that’s grown in greatness like a rotund cabbage.
Top tips for travelling around the Fringe and getting to shows on time?
Never underestimate the fact that where you need to be may be either directly above or below you.
What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?
A cagoule, non white trainers and a hunger in your loins.
What’s the secret to successful flyering?
Don’t let anyone see the tears
If people want to find out more about you, where can they follow you on social media?
Think I’m on every single vacuous one of them ( @harrietdyercomedy ) apart from Twitter where that doesn’t fit in so am @harrietdyercom there. Thanks so much
And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
Mentally ill joy
