Hello! Tell us about yourself?

I’m Caroline. I’m from Northern Ireland. I have brown hair, brown eyes, and I’m the global average height for a man (5 foot 8 inches, in case you were wondering). I’ve been doing stand-up for a few years now and this is my 3rd year at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Tell us all about your show!

It’s a stand-up comedy show about growing up with a brother who has autism. Also, some observational bits and witchy stuff.

How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the fringe?

‘Glass child’ is a label for non-disabled people who have disabled siblings. I heard about it on TikTok and thought, ‘I could use that’.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

Pierre Novellie. Luke Chilton. Other people I follow on Instagram. Usually I look at recommendations from places like the LMAOnaise comedy newsletter!

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

Yes, I have done it for the past two years in a row. My main tips are: Stay hydrated! Apply for an interest-free overdraft!

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

I wake up. I floss. I take a bus into town and hand out flyers. I bump into almost everybody I know from the London comedy circuit on the Royal Mile. I perform my show. If the show goes well, I go to the pub. If the show doesn’t go well, I go to the pub. It’s a lovely time.

What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?

I think one of the best ways to enjoy yourself is by coming to see my show.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

The mac n’ cheese stand.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

The mac n’ cheese stand.

Top tips for travelling around the Fringe and getting to shows on time?

I plan to rent a bike this year for the first time. I think it’s the fastest way to get around! Sure you’ll get sweaty, but it’s better than being sweaty on a bus.

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

A portable charger, throat sweets, and no ego.

What’s the secret to successful flyering?

Be friendly, persistent, find a busy area and try to conserve energy where possible. (Also, don’t punch anyone).

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

I’m on Instagram @carolinemcevoycomedy and on TikTok @carolinemcevoy

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Is it funny? It is funny.
