Welcome to the feature where we talk to musicians about some of their favourite things about the industry. Today we speak to the band Monte who have recently released the single Dysfunctional Mess and are set to release their first full length this summer. I spoke to the band to find out their favourite things about the music industry.

What is your Favourite:

Song you have written:

Hmmm.  Probably a tie between “I Hate Me More”, and “No One To Say I Love You (Empty)”, which is funny because I disliked the production on the first EP with that song, but I feel like it had the most heart and emotion.

Musician:

I have so many favorite artists, but I think the GOAT is Prince

Film or television show

Spinal Tap…Pretty much defines me as a person

Instrument:

I play lots of them! Guitar is the main one. I also play bass and drums and obviously sing

Memory of tour:

I try to make it a point to eat at really great places in the middle of nowhere, and we once found a very cool diner in Skokie Illinois that had the biggest breakfast i had ever seen… most memories are food and drink related

Being creative with the band and hearing and loving the final product

Thing about performing at festivals:

The pay is pretty great and the music fans are awesome!
