There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.
Water, it is one of my favourite things – I am most happiest when I am on a boat, by the water or even just watching it – it makes me calm and happy. If there is one thing that Norway has then it is dramatic waterfalls and today we are looking at one of those.
I was lucky enough to visit Geiranger on a cruise and it is one of my favourite places as as it was all nature and truly outstanding. One of the things that I really loved about it was the random waterfalls you would come across.
They were strong, powerful and incredibly unique. That is why I love this photo as it demonstrates the power and the drama that they can bring. In a quiet area it can create such an impact on the world around you.
One thing I remember from these waterfalls was the sound – it was so bold that the noise was incredibly loud and it was utterly amazing and such a wonderful experience.
I love this photo as the green trees really highlight the darkness and the drama of the rocks and it makes it so unique and wonderful.
