Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW – Danny Silvertone

Tell us about:

Your latest single you have released:

I released ‘Risk It All’ – this has gotta be one of my favorite tracks I’ve had the chance to share with everyone. Producing this was an awesome experience and in general, I think I’m really zeroing in on what makes me unique as an artist.

Your favourite lyric in this song:

‘If you got no ideas, babe I can give you one’ – this felt like a smooth segway into the theatrical pre-hook and hook. I like trying to include little quips and wordplay in my lyrics. It’s simple and fun for me.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

It’s honestly a tie between ‘Risk It All’ and ‘New To You’ – these songs were really fun to write and record, and I can’t wait to perform them live. The energy they have is awesome.

Your favourite song to play live:

You know, one of my favorites to perform live is actually ‘Go Again’ from my previous album. I think it’s because I can play that one on guitar too.

The song that was the longest to write and why?

‘Risk It All’ by a long shot. I’ve never taken such a long time on a song EVER – it took like 6 or 7 months to really flesh out what I wanted to do with this song. I’m glad I took that time though!

Your most emotional track:

‘The Summit’ by far. This song is all about thinking about how far you have to go to reach your goals, while trying to see eye to eye with someone who has their own goals.

Dream collaboration:

The Weeknd or Chase Atlantic.

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

I get really nervous at first, but when I get into the groove of things it’s like nothing even matters anymore.

The hardest track to play live:

‘Alone.’ This song is a little slower and more technical but I love it!

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

I haven’t been on a tour yet, but I know for a fact I’m gonna need LOTS of coffee and LOTS of Zen brand water! I love that stuff.

Describe your fans in three words:

Hm – I think they’re Online, Trendy, and alternative.

A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:

The Beach, but the Neighborhood’s version!

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

I just dropped an album, and I’m looking to perform a lot this summer!
