29 Days of Rom Coms – Day 26 – French Kiss

Every day this month we are taking a look at a different rom com everyday to celebrate that it is a leap year in 2024 and valentines day also being in the same month.

Day 26 – French Kiss

It is a film that I think I have seen the least in this list but it also a film I used to enjoy and I used to watch with my mum a lot when I was younger. It is a film that is on here mainly for nostalgia links and also because I am in the mood to watch this film again and can’t currently find it on streaming platforms,

Here is the synopsis:

A woman flying to France to confront her straying fiance gets into trouble when the charming crook seated next to her uses her for smuggling.

This is a really underrated Meg Ryan film as it is actually very fun – there are a lot of great sections in it and it is a very unique rom com. The nineties was the prime for her romance films and whilst people remember the others this one is never spoken about which is a shame.

The chemistry between Meg Ryan and crook Kevin Kline is really good and it is what makes this film fun and enjoyable to watch. The accents are a bit dodgy but it doesn’t really matter in this film and that is one of the reasons why it an interesting film to watch – I don’t want to give too much away.

I haven’t seen this film in such a long time and writing about it now makes me want to try and find somewhere that has it as I remember that I used to like it when I did see it even though there were huge gaps between.
