Day 15 – You’ve Got Mail

When someone mentions rom com my move instantly go to this film because it is a classic. It wouldn’t work in this modern day world due to the topic but it’s great.

Here is the synopsis:

Book superstore magnate Joe Fox and independent book shop owner Kathleen Kelly fall in love in the anonymity of the Internet, both blissfully unaware that he’s trying to put her out of business.

There is something about Tom Hanks and how he can transform into so many roles and he is very good in rom coms. Out of all the films with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks this is my favourite, they always bring to life the characters and the emotions and this film is fantastic.

Ok, so as far as Rom coms go this one is cheesy and it probably wouldn’t click with modern audiences but it is a great film. There are some funny moments and it has some lovely scenes in it even though it is predictable at times.

If you want to watch a film that defines what a rom com is then watch this. If you don’t remember a time without internet or with dial up and no mobile phones l, you may want to watch it to see how different everything was.
