The Travel Book – Parc de la Tete D’or, Lyon, France

Today we are heading to Lyon in France to take a look at a location you should check out the next time that you are in the city or nearby.

Parc de la Tete d’or is a large park that is located in the city of Lyon and it is a main tourist attraction of the area, especially in the summer. It is located in the north of the 6th arrondissmement. It is also a location that is used a lot by the locals as it is the largest park in the city.

The park has lots of interesting things to see in it including a zoo, a botanical garden, rose gardens, a huge greenhouse and a velodrome.

When I visited the park in 2019, it was when the Mouvement des gilets jaunes was protesting around the area so it was a completely different style of atmosphere. However there is one part of the park that really stood out and that was the zoo.

The zoo opened the same time as the park did in 1857. Since then it has been a place that has been the home to many wild animals to help conservation. It has many creatures including antelopes, turtles, porcupines, leopards and lions.

I enjoyed my visit to the Parc de la Tete D’or and I really recommend it.
