Every day this month we are taking a look at a different rom com everyday to celebrate that it is a leap year in 2024 and valentines day also being in the same month.
Day 3 – About Time
Due to the fact I work as a creative in the media, sometimes it can lead to me being convinced to watch a film. One of my first jobs in the industry was to make mini videos that would be sent to studios in America to show how well their films have done around the world. One of the films that I worked on doing this was About Time.
Here is the Synposis:
At the age of 21, Tim discovers he can travel in time and change what happens and has happened in his own life. His decision to make his world a better place by getting a girlfriend turns out not to be as easy as you might think
Imdb
It was a very long time after working on this film that I actually even made the effort to watch this film – just because sometimes when you work on something you need a break from it so that you can disassociate work from it and be able to watch it leisurely.
I would not say that this is one of my favourite rom coms as I have only watched it once. Due to the fact it played a big part of my life for a little while, I feel that I had to include it as I am not really a fan of time travel based films (apart from Back to the Future) but this one is slightly different in how it is told.
If you are a fan of Love Actually or Notting Hill then this is a film that you will enjoy and will want to take time to go and watch it.
There are some really light hearted moments of the film however just like Love Actually there is a lot of heartfelt and emotional moments as well, so don’t expect plain sailing.
It may not be a film you can watch all the time but give it a go as it is worth the watch even if it is only once.
