Forgotten Songs! – This Week – Bop Bop Baby

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Bop Bop Baby – Westlife

Today we are heading into the world of the boyband and taking a look at a single by the group Westlife that you may not remember.

Bop Bop Baby was released by the band on the 20th May 2002. The track was written by Brian McFadden, Shane Filan, Graham Murphy and Chris O’Brien. The song was produced by Steve Mac and released under the record labels of BMG, RCA and S.

Bop Bop Baby was the third single to be taken from the groups third studio album that was called World Of Our Own. This album was actually released in 2001. The music video features Vinnie Jones as a villain.

The song did reasonably well in the charts and went into the top 20 in the UK (5), Denmark (3), Ireland (4), Germany (15), Romania (13) and Sweden (16).

This was a Westlife single that I was not the biggest fan of as I preferred other songs by the act. However, once you have listened to it, the chorus gets stuck in your head.
