Yearly Music Hitlist! – July to September 2023

All year I have decided to keep a diary of tracks that I am enjoying so that maybe you can gain new ideas of tracks to listen to or even try out. So I thought what a great way to end the year and highlight some of the tracks throughout 2023 that I have enjoyed. Here are some of my favourite tracks from July to September.

9/7/23 – Perfect Mistake – Josh Ramsay feat Ria Mae

I heard this song a long time ago but completely forgot about it, the only reason I remembered to re-listen to this track was because Josh Ramsay started to promote it on his social media pages as they had created a music video for it. The track is quite fun and pacey and I recommend you listen to it as it has a catchy chorus.

23/7/23 – Barbaric – Blur

If you have turned on any indie radio channel or looked at any social media that is related to the genre then there is one thing on everyone’s mind this month and that is Blur. I have always liked some of their songs but never really gone out my way to listen to them (as I have always preferred Oasis more…..) Anyway, I tend to have Radio X playing in the morning and this was the record of the week and it was constantly playing so I learnt to like it.

28/7/23 – Summa Hot – Sean Paul

It would not be summer without Sean Paul releasing a single and this year he has released a track that has a catchy sound to it and will make you want to tap your feet along to the music. It has a really interesting jingle to it that makes it a song that will make any hot day an interesting one.

18/8/23 – Calm Down ( A Little Louder Now), All Time Low

This is a heavy and enjoyable delight that makes me excited as to what the new music is set to be released by the band. I really like the All Time Low songs when they are heavier style rock and this one has a catchy chorus to go with it which once you have listened to it you will want to listen to it again and again.

25/8/23 – Hated, Yungblud

It is very brave of anyone to talk about abuse on any level but to put it as really brutal lyrics at the beginning of a song is a very interesting concept whilst also shocking one. Even if you are not a fan of the musician you should listen to this track as it is very different to their other songs and this one really deals with some serious issues.

28/8/23 – Single Soon, Selena Gomez

This is a new track by Selena and it is a track that grows on you, at first you are not sure that you like it but then it develops. To me, it really sounds like a track that Taylor Swift could easily of written or sung as I can hear inspirations from her in it. It has a laugh intertwined throughout and has an electronic beat that is catchy whilst weirdly uplifting.

15/9/23 – Stuck in A Car With You , Twin Atlantic

If you are looking for a track that is full of guitar riffs and catchy moments, then this is the song for you. It is a real toe tapper of a track that you will find yourself singing along to throughout. It is a very traditional sort of rock track with a hint of indie thrown in.

16/9/23 – Band Ya Head – Wargasm feat Fred Durst

If you are looking for a heavier track to listen to this month then this is a song you need to check out as it has heavy guitars, screaming and even a tad of electronica mixed in. Even through it is a really heavy track, it is really catchy and it is delightful to hear Fred Durst on a track.

20/9/23 – One More Time, Blink-182

This was a song that I sort of predicted to come out of the Blink-182 reunion with Tom, a song about them being apart and now together. It is a song that has proved popular and has had over 3 million views already on Youtube. I personally find it ok but preferred the other track that they released with this one. If you want a song that is sad that reflects on the past then this is the song for you.
