Tell us about:
Your latest single you have released:
“Poison the Well” is a song formed around a bass lick that captures the feeling of wondering what could have happened if things had turned out differently.
Your first single and how you felt when it was released:
“Poison the Well” is also our first single. I honestly felt relief to finally let it out into the ether to live outside of my head.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
“Bless the Loser” has got to be my favourite because it’s an emotional heavy-hitter. I also love all the production choices and instrumentation we added. And it slaps.
Your favourite song to play live:
“Body is a Temple” – which is a new song and a single off our next album we are currently working on. It should come out sometime next year.
The song that was the longest to write and why?
“Poison the Well” because we tracked the song in multiple studios over a couple of years. We ended up reworking the production and retracking some of the instrumentation until we were happy with it.
Your most emotional track:
“Bless the Loser”
The best lyric you have ever written:
‘God will always be god, we are in her right hand, and you will surely know nothing again.’
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
A mix of anticipation and calm presence.
The hardest track to play live:
“Ketamine” because of all the layered percussion and dual guitar solos.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Film camera, shea butter, glitter, electrolytes.
Describe your fans in three words:
Patient, hot, kind.
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
“If it Makes You Happy” by Sheryl Crow
What we can look forward to from your band this year :
The release of the next single “Motorcycle” this August and the release of the full 5 song EP on September 28th. We’re going to be booking some local shows and hopefully a mini-tour shortly to follow.
