Travel Book – Kimchee, London, United Kingdom

London is full of so many places to go for food that it can be such a minefield to find somewhere that is different, not a fast food takeaway or the ‘norm’. I don’t find places along the Thames or in the central of the city that difficult to find somewhere, however, when you start to go to places on the edge of the central part of London such as Kings Cross, I do find that it can be difficult to find somewhere – well today I hope to add a new place to your list to try.

Kimchee is a Korean restaurant that is located in St Pancras Square – a five minute walk from either St Pancras station or Kings Cross Station. It is open daily from midday and closes at 10pm or 11pm depending on the day. There are two types of dining experiences available for customers – the main menu which is enriched with authentic Korean cuisine or a Table BBQ – this is a newer addition to the restaurant and allows guests to cook their own meat for an authentic Korean experience. When I visited I had the main menu.

Two things you should be aware of from the beginning – you should book a table in advance as it is a very popular location. Another thing you should be aware of is that it is quite pricey – an average meal will cost you anything from £16 up so be prepared. However, I will say that for that price, the portions can be quite big.

There is a lot available on the menu including Mandu, Korean fried Chicken, Bibimbap, Korean stews and noodles just to name a few.

I went there one evening in July this year and the food was really good. I was impressed with the portions and the food was really tasty. It is one of those places that I would like to visit again to try something new.
