Hello! Tell us about yourself?

I’m Ed. I can be found on stage, in hospital, or in-between. I have a dog

How did you come up with the name of your show that you’re taking to the fringe?

My book (available in book purchasing places) came out with the same name. Then I chose it for this show, seemed to keep things neat. But the show is different from the book, in fact there’s another story I’m telling. So what I’m saying is, buy the book AND come see the show.

Tell us all about your show!

It’s about being a doctor, an anaesthetist, and how stories can be more powerful than medicine.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

I have to say Benji Waterstones, definitely not just to repay him putting me on his list.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe?

Keep hydrated, take a trip to the countryside, watch other shows, stay up late but have quiet nights too.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

Eyes open, look left, look right, bolt upright, look at the clock, lie back down. Breakfast, more nap time, think too much about the show. Try to take mind off show, continue thinking about show. Go do show, snacks, see other shows and friends, then bedtime.

What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?

Eat enough, drink enough, pee enough, sleep enough, and see other shows.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Seeing a ton of shows and not feeling guilty for sleeping in.

The most challenging thing about performing at the fringe?

Juggling the performing side of things with the marketing the show side of things. See are you a good flyerer question.

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

Sunglasses, waterproofs and a pet.

What’s the secret to successful flyering?

I am terrible at this for my own shows.

Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?

I would love to hear Brian Blessed chuckling away with his trademark laugh at the back.

If people want to find out more about you, where can they follow you on social media?

@parmapatrick on insta, twitter and facebook. (I bought parma ham once and got this name thrown at me, it stuck like a piece of ham)

And, finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Ketamine and fentanyl
