Hello! Tell us about yourself?

I’m an NYC based comedian and also a financial dominatrix (which is like a normal dominatrix but instead the fetish is all about money). I also have a background in musical theater, improv, and cat whispering. I WILL make your cat love me.

How did you come up with the name of your show that you’re taking to the fringe?

Put Sex Work and Day Job together. What do you get? Sex Job! It sounded like a funny sexual favor and I thought THAT’S IT!

Tell us all about your show!

Sex Job is a comedy show about my day job as a financial dominatrix. In other words: People’s kink is paying me!  If you’re wondering “Is that real!? How would that even work?!” You’ll not only learn all about it at my show but I even teach an audience member how to do Findom (financial domination) and let’s just say real money might get involved and the end of the show has been described as like a magic trick… but real!

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

I’m stoked to see Patti Harrison, Catherine Cohen, and also Katy Berry’s ‘Diamond Goddess Crystal Pussy’. I saw an early production of it in NYC and it was incredible!

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

This is my first time! I’ve definitely latched onto “The Fringe is a marathon. Not a sprint.” Because I’m ABSOLUTELY going to want to sprint. Slow down Lane.

Favourite one liner you have done in a show and why?

Forgive my crassness but:

“Why is liking feet weird? There’s been a whole movement normalizing eating ass and feet don’t make poop.”

I think this highlights that whatever’s considered “normal” when it comes to sexuality is totally arbitrary. I hope we all can let go of the shame around trying to be normal and start exploring (in a safe, supportive way) what lights us up and turns us on!

What have been some of the most unique and different comedy shows you have seen this year and why?

Kate Berlant’s show ‘Kate’ really blew my mind. She created something that felt more like a ride than a show! It was so immersive, funny, and utilized technology in a really clever and cohesive way.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

Do some morning yoga, grab a tea and make a submissive pay for it (I’m joking but not really), flyer and do my show, see so many shows I can’t see straight, remind myself to slow down because it’s a marathon not a sprint as I stumble into bed, wake up, do it all again.

What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?

Don’t just do shows! See shows! Especially ones that are out of your comfort zone of what you normally see.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Getting to work off of that electric energy that the audiences and performers bring to the fringe is so special! I’m getting all charged up just thinking about it!

The most challenging thing about performing at the fringe?

Slowing down. It’s a marathon. Not a sprint. SLOW DOWN LANE.

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

My tight leather pants, red leather bra, and riding crop.

What’s the secret to successful flyering?

Wearing my tight leather pants, red leather bra, and carrying my riding crop.

Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?

A VERY rich sub! Honestly, a dream, BUT I would love it to be someone who’s on the fence about sex work and have the chance to open their mind to what sex work really is. So many people have come up to me after seeing the show saying how much fun they had but also how much they learned. That’s been the ultimate dream come true and the reason I created this show.
