It is festival season and that means that in the next month there is so many great comedy festivals to look forward to! This month we are looking at some of the great shows that you can see at the Edinburgh Fringe. Hello! Tell us about yourself?
My name is Riikka Puumalainen. I work as a choreographer, dancer and as an artistic director of Tsuumi Dance Theatre from Finland.
How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the fringe?
The name of the show just appeared during the process quite naturally!
Tell us all about your show!
A Couple of Humans is a visually stunning Dance piece about social interaction and communication. It is performed by a real-life couple who have also created the visual concept together with the working group.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
All the other Finnish performances of course
Race Horse Company, Agit Cirk and Sprindrift Theatre!
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
This is my first time at the fringe so I’m very excited!!!
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
First thing in the morning is coffee and Yoga. Then breakfast and emails. After lunch we’re preparing for the show. In the evening we’re enjoying other shows and the Fringe atmosphere.
What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?
I guess it might be staying open minded and ready to experience new things.
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
Totally new audiences and international visibility!
The most challenging thing about performing at the fringe?
The busy schedule with technical set ups.
What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?
A well trained gluteus maximus, nerves and good sneakers.

Communication and presence

All the couples who need new perspectives in their relationship
