There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Gonna Get Over You – Sara Bareilles

Today we are going to look at a song that was released by the actress and musician Sara Bareilles. It is a track that did not chart in the United Kingdom but it was pretty catchy. I ended up initially discovering this song via Spotify and since it has a catchy chorus I thought it would be fun to hear and re-remember it.

Gonna Get Over You was the third single to be released from Sara’s second studio album Kaleidoscope Heart. The single was released on the 16th September 2011, it was written by Sara Barielles and Sam Farrow- the bass player of Phantom Planet. It was produced by Neal Avron and released under the record label of Epic.

There were two version of the style released, the original and one that was specifically released on the 20th September featuring the additional lyrics of Ryan Tedder of One Republic only available on iTunes.

The music video may be of something you want to check out as it was directed by the actor Jonah Hill. The song went into the US Billboard at the chart position of 27 .
