Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
THE THUNDERING HERD BISCUIT
It may be the new year where everyone starts to think about healthy food, but not here on The Phoenix Remix! Instead we are taking you to West Virginia to explore a food item from a restaurant that has raving reviews online. Welcome to the Word of the Biscuit.
In 1980, a new restaurant chain was opened in Huntington, West Virginia – Tudor’s Biscuit World, a place where biscuit sandwiches are served in all different varieties. They became so popular that there are now many franchise’s in West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio and Florida. I thought today would be a good thing to look at one of the items that is available on the menu.
One of the items that you are available to purchase is called the Thundering Herd – there are many different varieties but I chose to speak about this one because I thought the name was quite striking. This particular biscuit is a layer of flat sausage then topped with a hash brown, cheese and then finished off with an egg on top.
There are many reviews of the restaurant on line and a lot of them have positive reviews.
