Interview

Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW – Lily Lane

Tell us about:

Your latest single you have released:

Bad, which is as straightforward as a song can be about what it is about, “usually a baddie but today I’m just bad”, it’s about how no matter how amazing you are or your life is everyone has a bad day. you can be a baddie but you can’t avoid feeling bad.

Your first single and how you felt when it was released:

My first single as Lily Lane was “Nothin’ But Trouble” and I was so so proud, I knew it was the start of introducing the world to the real me and it felt great after a long time being a teenager having no idea who I was to have found myself and shared a bit of me with the world.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

Love Me Like I Do. It’s for the goyls.

Your favourite song to play live:

It used to be Nothin’ But Trouble or I Get High because everyone knew the words but now it’s probably “Bad” ever since I debuted it live.

The song that was the longest to write and why?

Devil took me almost 10 years to finish from the first idea to having it released. It was about being abused as a preteen and it was hard to talk about for a long time and even harder to write about.

Your most emotional track:

Devil, definitely.

The best lyric you have ever written:

Didn’t need you but i need her, and she’s right there in the mirror (Love Me Like I Do)

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

Electricity knowing that after however many minutes or days or weeks it’s been since my last show i am finally back exactly where i’m supposed to be sharing the thing i’m most proud of with people who took time out of their lives to be with me. it’s the coolest.

The hardest track to play live:

devil

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

An unreasonable amount of water, pillow, ear plugs, eye mask, my roland spd-sx, in ears and a dream

Describe your fans in three words:

smart sexy and sad lol

A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:

“you got the love”

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

My sophomore EP Queen of Hearts is out now! 5 brand new never heard before songs, and the most personal project of my life so far.
