Hello! Tell us about CRONE?
CRONE is an interactive, semi-improvised horror comedy show. The audience enters the witch’s lair and amidst the improvised, interactive chaos, there will be ghost stories and rituals and spells to perform – we intend to whisk the audience away to a world that’s spooky and stupid in equal measure.
How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the Camden fringe?
CRONE is mostly just a description of the character – a half-mask witch-type creature!
Tell us a little bit about your style of show?
The show takes inspiration from old folk tales of witches and creatures like Baba Yaga and the Cailleach and aims to be a fun, funny and unsettling in equal measure.
What will your set be about?
The show is fun and stupid and spooky but at its heart is about connection – between the witch, the audience, and the great void beyond. Due to its highly interactive nature, each show is a bit different and will focus on what we find together when we step foot into the infinite unknowable.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
I know Ben Pope is doing a run at The Bill Murray – I’ve seen him a bunch of times and he’s always hilarious and super inventive yet somehow completely effortless on stage! I also have heard fantastic things about the improv show Hotel Michelle and the folks at GAMEZ have a new show which I’m sure will be a riot!
Have you done the fringe before? What have been some of your favourite shows to date and why?
This is my first time doing the Camden Fringe as most years I’ve been in Edinburgh through August, so I’m just really excited to be able to get involved and be a part of it.
Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?
Anyone who’s up for a bit of an adventure.
If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?
@Liam_Webber on twitter. @liamjwebber on instagram. @crone_zone on TikTok.
And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
To meet CRONE.
