It is August which only means one thing – it is Camden Fringe time! Over the next few weeks we are chatting to acts that are performing at the festival and finding all about their show and what they would call this years iconic Camden Fringe Pigeon! Today we speak to Zara Phillips

Hello! Tell us about yourself ?
My name is Zara Phillips. I am a singer/songwriter/author. I have worked as a singer for many years,starting in the late 80’s with bands such as Bob geldof,Matt Bianco,David Essex,Nic kamen. In recent years I have had a couple of books published my most recent in 2018 ‘Somebodys daughter’ I work as a harmony singer with Richard Thompson.I released a new CD ‘Meditation & Kitkats 2020
How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the Camden fringe?
The show title is taken from my book of the same name. “Somebodys Daughter’ 2018
Tell us a little bit about your style of show?
My show is about my story as an adopted person finding my birth parents 26 years apart.It is about recovery from addiction and life.Funny and intense.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
I will be looking through to familiarize myself with them all.
It is your first time doing the Fringe – how do you feel about it?
First time and very excited to be doing it.
What advice would you give to others who want to perform at Camden Fringe next year?
Go for it!
What are your favourite things about London?
I was born and raised in London and moved to the states a bunch of years ago. I love being in central London, the parks,the buildings,the history.
What are your three favourite things about Camden?
Camden market of course and the punks!! and the clothes!
Favourite one liner you have done in a show and why?
‘You want me to come to your wedding as your girlfriend”..I think it’s self explanatory of how nuts that sounds.
Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?
Anyone that is touched by adoption,addiction,life and the complexities of life!
The iconic image of the Camden Fringe is the Pigeon – if you could call this years pigeon a name to represent its style what would it be and why?
Naming a pigeon? Sebastian with a name like that I think you can do anything creative!
