There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Ugly Heart – G.R.L

Today we look at a track that you may of heard of but may not of known much about the band. I only came across it a few years ago on a Spotify radio playlist. Today we are looking at Ugly Heart by the band GRL.

Ugly Heart was released on the 3rd June 2014, produced by Dr Luke and Cirkuit and released under the record label of Kemosabe and RCA. The track was written by Ryan Barhaloo, Ester Dean, Lukasz Gottwald, John Chorles Monds and Henry Walter. The single the first song to be released off of the EP Ugly Heart.

The song has a lot of strong messages in the lyrics to aim at hoping people will find someone who treats them well. It was watched 2.5 million times in less than a week. People have also said that the chorus is very similar to a song released years later by Little Mix – Shout Out To My Ex.

The single did well in the charts and went into the top 3 in Austria (2), Belgium (2), Ireland (2), Netherlands (1), New Zealand (3) and Scotland (5). The song went Platinum in the UK selling over 600,000 copies.
