Have you ever wanted To listen to a new band or musician and not sure where to start? Well, instead of listening to their commercial music, why not start with something off the album first! Today we look at the brand new EP by Reaven – (Be) For Tomorrow.
Hope
This is the first song on the album and it is a really nice acoustic feel to it that has this wonderful jingle that comes out and stands out in the interludes between the verses which create this wonderful pace to the track. The song is really uplifting and has a really lovely sense of lyrics to it that feel meaningful and really make you want to listen to more of the EP. The thing that really makes this track a star is the guitar melodies throughout and it creates this fun complexity to the track.
Electric Love
This song has a real fun set of lyrics to it and a toe tapping beat that you will find it hard not to like. The song is a fun merge of rock and pop and is full of these fun melodies throughout. It is a track that has this really uplifting feel to it that feel like a contrast to the lyrics. If you are a fan of bands like Coldplay or Bastille then you are going to love this track.
Reflection
This is one of the slower tracks on the EP and it has a real choral feel to it throughout that creates this really emotional section of the song and automatically reels you in. The track is very different to the other songs that are on the EP and it has a more of a soulful feel to it that comes at the perfect point in the running order. It is really nice to see another side to this band and it is a beautiful song as well and having more then one person singing the same lyrics throughout it a really unique touch to the track. It is full of big and bold chorus hits that really bring the track together.
Ordinary Heroes
There is this heavy guitar rift that echoes throughout that give the track that makes a bold statement right from the beginning and really defines the next chapter that we are delving into in this EP. The jingle of the piano throughout may be sparse but it brings a really exciting melody to the track and heightens it to the next level. It is a fun little track and it is one that you cannot help but tap your feet to when you hear it.
Escape
This song is the last track on the album that is not a live version, so it will be the last song that we will review and it is a track that really creates a beautiful end to the album tracks. It is a song that feels stripped back and relies on acoustic guitars and only really has lots of instruments when it comes to the chorus and that is what makes it the perfect finale track. It is a song with a lot of depth and it really creates a wonderful end to a really fun and exciting EP.
