Welcome to a brand new feature that will be published every other week. I go to a lot of gigs and there are always little stories that come out of them that I always want to tell someone so what better place to do it!
Todays Gig: Flo Rida
I have been to many gigs in America and they never seem to surprise me with what the artists have in store for the audience, they really go above and beyond. In Tampa 2013, we went to a concert that was hosted by iheartradio and there was a lot of huge named acts that were part of the line up including Miley Cyrus, Enrique Igleasis and Ariana Grande. There is so much to talk about with this gig so I am going to talk about different acts separately over the up and coming months.
It was Christmas and there was this show in the stadium right next to the hotel where lots of musicians were to appear to celebrate the festive time of the year and we decided to book tickets. One of the acts that was performing at the event was Flo Rida, The energy when he approached the stage was electric, it was like one big party and he even got a few of the members of the audience on the stage to dance along to some of his biggest hits.
I have mentioned before in other articles relating to shows in America, that bands tend to go into the audience (read NKOTBSB for more information) well Flo Rida took this and took it one step futher. Flo Rida did not just go into the audience he was ran around the whole stadium by being placed on the shoulders of one of hos bodyguards.
Now, if you have seen Flo Rida, he is very tall and big and it was a real shock to see someone be carried at speed across the whole stadium. At the same time it actually really brought the whole audience into the stage performance and it worked so well! It was a joy to watch the enery that this musician had.
For a 10-15 minute set, it felt a lot longer because it was so energetic and so fun to watch and I came away from the gig as more of a fan of the musician.
