Welcome to a new sister article to In The Games Corner that is about computer games but with a different spin. I have been playing computer games from a very young age and I find that some games when I think of them are attached to very strong memories. So, I thought it would be fun to share memories that I have attached to some of these games as there are a few. I wanted to call this feature Memory Card because a lot of my memories that i have strongly are around the Playstation 1 and there will be a few around that particular card. Today we take a look at Call Of Duty
I never really got on or enjoyed Call Of Duty until I worked at a Day Camp in America, a place where students would come in the summer to learn how to code, animate and do graphic design. There was two weeks where the computer camp turned into a night camp where the older teens would stay overnight. When this happened most of the students were males and they all wanted to play one thing – Call Of Duty.
They all wanted to play against each other in teams and get the most ‘kills’ so because we were playing it so much I had to learn to enjoy it. I have never been a fan of first person shooter games so I had to get used to that and work out a way to like it. I took influence from what I used to do in the James Bond game and camp out and become a sniper.
One week we had this guy (which we will call Brad from now on) join the camp and I would always had a fun rivalry with him on Call of Duty nights. He used to enjoy shooting at me because I was an easy target so I decided to keep finding even more devilish spots to hide which caused great fun for us all.
At the end of the week we would have a raffle where the students could win anything from a tee shirt to the option of putting a shaving foam pie in the face of one of the activity leaders. That week Brad was with us he won the pie and obviously nominated me – it was the ultimate fun revenge.
