Off The Record – EP FOCUS – New Wave EP, Bow Anderson

Have you ever wanted To listen to a new band or musician and not sure where to start? Well, instead of listening to their commercial music, why not start with something off the album first!  Today we look at song of the songs on the new Ep that was released by Bow Anderson – New Wave


New Wave

This is the opening song on the track and it is also the title of the EP so it is a really interesting choice to have this as the first track. However, saying that, this song is really catchy and really sets up the tracks that are set to come. It feels like a really catchy summer track it has a really catchy backing beat that has a sense of an echo to it that creates this unique sound. Bow’s voice really is powerful on this song and lifts this song to a really great level. A really fun track.


Black Heart

Right from the beginning of this track you can feel the soul and the emotion in this track. The use of a piano to create these intricate melodies really emphasises the wonder of this track. It is a song that has a chilled vibe whilst also contrasted with the passion you can hear in Bow’s voice. The strings are the stars of this track and really emphasise the lyrics.


Island

This song is very different to the tracks before it and has a really uplifting soulful feel to it, the drums create this really interesting beat throughout the song. It has a really fun feeling about it and it is a song you will not forget in a hurry. It is a song that when you listen to it you cannot help but tap your foot along to it.


Everybody Wants To Rule The World

This is the last track on the album and it is a cover of the track by Tears For Fears and it is a magical version, it takes the original uptempo track and turns it into an emotional piano version of the track. This version really highlights the talent of Bow and her vocal talents. It is a lovely end to the EP and it is a really beautiful version of this track.
