30 Best Songs Of 2020 – Part 2

It has come to the point of the year when we celebrate all things music and take a look back on the year and what songs that it has provided us with. This year has been a weird year with a lot of us listening to tracks in the comfort of our own home and a lot of them have become viral because of TikTok. Today we have a look at the next ten in our list of greatest songs of 2020


11) I DON’T KNOW HOW BY THEY FOUND ME – Leave Me Alone

It has been a big year for I Don’t Know How But They Found Me as they released their debut album with positive reviews left right and centre. One of the tracks that they released this year in August was Leave Me Alone which entered the top ten of the Alternative Radio Charts. Their debut album Razzmatazz that this single is off of was released later in the year.



12) Kylie Minogue – Magic

This year the princess of pop Kylie Minogue released her fifteenth studio album called Disco and this was the second track to be released from it. The song went into the charts in September and it did relatively well around the world entering the top 20 in the UK Indie Charts, Scotland, Hungary, Australia and Belgium to name a few.



13) Bring Me The Horizon (feat YUNGBLUD) -Obey

This year saw the return of Rock band Bring Me The Horizon and with it was this duet with Yungblud. The song is defined as ‘Industrial Metal’ genre and it was written and composed by Olly Sykes, Jordan Fish and Yungblud whilst in lockdown. The song did really well in the UK Rock and Metal Charts and went to number 1.



14) Gary Barlow – Incredible

If you have been watching television at all over the festive season then this song would of popped up a lot as it is the song on the Argos advert. The song was released at the end of October and was the second track to be released from the new album Music Played By Humans.



15) Miley Cyrus- Midnight Sky

In the middle of August, Miley Cyrus released the single Midnight Sky which was the lead single from her seventh album Plastic Hearts. The single was released to coincide with the launch of Instagram Reels function and was teased on there on the date it went live. It was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award and went into the top 10 in Austria, Bulgaria, Belgium, Canada and the UK to name a few.



16) Cardi B featuring Megan Stallion – WAP

We cannot talk about 2020 without talking about a music video and song that caused a viral trend on Tik Tok and also in the media. The single was released on the 7th August and was the lead single off of Cardi’s second studio album WAP. The song was praised for it’s sex positive message while others criticised it for it’s explicit lyrics. The music video reached 26 million views in the first day and broke the record for the biggest 24 hour debut for an all female collaboration on Youtube.



17) Billie Eilish – No Time To Die

This year was meant to see the release of the brand new James Bond film but due to Covid it was postponed until 2021. Billie Eilish released the single in February and it was written by her and her brother Finneas O’Connell. This song makes her the youngest artist to sing a song for the franchise and it was nominated for a Grammy for the Best Song Written for Visual Media. The song did really well and went into the top 3 in a lot of countries including Malaysia, Hong Kong, Slovakia, United Kingdom and the US just to name a few.



18) Little Mix – Break Up Song

This year saw the return of Little Mix, they had their own talent search show on the BBC and they also returned with new music and a sixth album called Confetti. Break Up Song was released on the 27th March 2020 and was the lead single off of Confetti. The song went to number nine in the UK charts and sold 400,00 units.



19) BTS – Dynamite

Near the end of August South Korean band BTS released the track Dynamite and it was the bands first song that was entirely in English. The aim of the song was to soothe listeners during the COVID-19 pandemic. The song went straight into number 1 in the US Billboard Hot 100 Charts ad it went into the top 10 into many countries including Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Russia, Peru Anglo, Lithuania, Japan, Ireland and the UK to name a few.



20) Taylor Swift – Cardigan

This year also saw a surprise album appear by Taylor Swift that apparently no-one was expecting. Folklore was released in July and Cardigan was the lead single from it. The song is very different to the tracks before it as it is more soft rock and slow ballad mixed with slow burning folk music. The song gained huge critical acclaim and was even nominated for a Grammy. It also went into the top 10 in Australia, US, UK, New Zealand and Ireland.
