Have you ever wanted To listen to a new band or musician and not sure where to start? Well, instead of listening to their commercial music, why not start with something off the album first! Today we look at the new album by Little Mix – Confetti
Confetti
This song gradually builds musically but when it opens it has this jingle sound with a bassline that allows the girls vocals to be the star of the show. This isn’t your average pop song it definitely has elements of an R’n’b song to it and has this really prominent sound throughout. I always believe that the title track of an album really highlights the style that the group is going for and this track really gives you a sense of what you can expect from the album – an album where ‘all eyes (and ears)’ are on the girls as this album really is interesting.
Not A Pop Song
It may be called this but there are elements of this genre but it takes it and combines it with a whole batch of genres (i feel there are hints of R’n’B and dance) and when you listen to the lyrics you can understand the title. The most common Pop songs are about love, happy and this song is about other topics and this is highlighted in the lines of the chorus. It has a really catchy beat that whilst slower it has a really bold sound to it.
Gloves Up
If you are a fan of songs such as Salute then you will like this song as the track has this really strong beat to it that I feel echoes this side of Little Mix. It is a song that really highlights their vocal talents and feels like an anthem and if you listen to the lyrics they are actually pretty powerful. I wouldn’t be surprised if this becomes a single.
My Love Won’t Let You Down
This is a slow track on the album and it is a very different sound to the songs before it, the heavy bass lines are gone and it focusses on piano melodies and the vocals of the girls. It is a really good song to listen to as it feels sort of bitter sweet, uplifting and also quite sad. It is an emotional song that is heightened by the vocal talents of the band.
