In The Games Corner… at Halloween – Through The Trap Door, Commodore 64

This month it is Halloween so what better way to celebrate then by looking at a few themed based computer games. Through The Trap Door was released on the Commodore 64 in 1987. The action game was developed by Five Ways Software and published by Piranha.

The game was a single player action game where you play as Berk and Little Drut and you must rescue Boni who has been captured and taken down a trap door into the gloomy depths. You control the game with the joystick and keyboard controls. The aim is to defend the ‘Thing’ to bring your friend back.

The game was based on the 1980’s cartoon series The Trap Door. The game is all based on intelligence to get through each challenge that you are welcomed with. The game is also in a pseudo 3D view.

Through The Trap Door received generally positive reviews with critic, praising it for being funny and a different sort of action adventure game. It is also considered a cult game even though the animation is jittery.
