Celebrating Comediasians Month – INTERVIEW – Meet Kelsey

All this month we are celebrating the improv troupe Comediasians. There is fifteen members of the team (and ever increasing) so we thought it was only right we got to know a few of them that little bit better! So each week we will be talking to a different member of the team to find out a little bit more about them. Today we talk to Kelsey.

PLAYER PROFILE – KELSEY

Hello Kelsey how long have you been improvising?
Since the day I was born.  Formally, about 7 years.

How did you get into improv?
I took over hosting an improv jam night in Istanbul from someone who didn’t want to do it anymore.  Then someone asked me to form a team with him.  The rest is history.

What is your favourite style of improv and why?
Long form.  Blame it on the theatre background.  I want character development and arc!

Favourite short form game?

To watch done well:  Forward Rewind.  To do:  Freeze Tag.

How would you describe your personal sort of improv?
My favourite scenes I’ve done are when I choose an outlandish character and try to ground and justify it as much as possible – doesn’t always happen.  I’ll usually come in as whatever I think the scene needs most of the time.
