Today we look at a game that was relevant to the second one in the Disney franchise of 101 Dalmatians. 102 Dalmatians: Puppies To The Rescue, is a platform game that was single player. It was released on the Dreamcast on the 15th November 2000. It was developed by Toys for Bob and publised by Edias Interactive.
The computer game is loosely based on the films narrative of the live action film but if you are not aware of the narrative let me tell you about it. The game is based around two dalmatian puppies – Oddball and Domino. They have to rescue the rest of the dogs from Cruella De Vil who is freezing every pet she can to make a set of realistic animal toys to stop her from going bankrupt. It is up to the two puppies to save the gang.
In the platform game you have to beat a variety of levels to reach the rest of the puppies. In each level you can collect bones old stickers to collect. There are 6 stickers per level and they collate together to make one big image which opens the mini games. In the levels you have to fight and avoid enemy toys. There is also a spirit animal friend in each area which helps you get through the level. The Dreamcast version received average reviews but it was praised for the vivid colours.
